Company History

VYRE is a software development and services company that specialises in web based technology. Headquartered in London the key product is VYRE Unify: a web based application building platform and content management solution. Unify is a Java EE (Java Enterprise Edition) system, which runs on any Java application server or servlet container.

Founded in 1997, VYRE was originally an Nordic company. At that time named Northern Communication and Design (NCD). The system was then called DataWeb. In 1998, the system was rewritten, and in 2001, the company and the system were renamed to VYRE. In 2003 the system was rewritten and the architecture was revised to support scalable enterprise applications. In the same year the company was acquired by London based Offstump Ltd. Offstump were Digital Asset Management and digital video experts in the UK and Europe and had more than 15 years of experience in their field. Offstump Ltd. changed its name to VYRE Ltd in 2005 and all interests are now held in the UK. In 2005 the fourth version of VYRE was released: VYRE Unify.

VYRE Unify brings together the expertise of both companies managing a wide range of both structured and unstructured content and combining the worlds of Content Management, Digital Asset Management, Marketing Operations and with the release of Unify 4.4 Enterprise Search in a single platform.
