The Presentations and Presenters

"Building your business case and benchmarking for success in Multi Channel Content Management Projects",  Steve McGowan, New Business Development, and Paul Rowley, Senior Account Manager, VYRE

In this multi-channel environment we are constantly repurposing information for the web, mobile and print, for both internal and external audiences. It may be obvious to you why your company needs a Multi Channel Content Management solution and what the various benefits to the business are. However, no project these days will (or indeed should) be signed off by the board without a watertight business case.

Such a case should include and identify clear metrics on the business benefits, savings, and revenue opportunities, as well as provide clear visibility of the current risks that would be eliminated by such a project.

Based on many years of experience VYRE have acquired an exceptional arsenal of techniques and tools to help champions build personalised business cases at speed. Paul Rowley and Steve McGowan from VYRE will present on these with practical examples from Virgin Holidays, Inghams and Diageo. Attendees will also be given practical toolkits to take away as a start on the process.

In this session you will learn:

  • Why effective multi-channel management is essential to your business success
  • How to build your business case for Multi Channel Content Management projects
  • How to use an ROI calculator to produce hard metrics to support your project
  • How to minimise risks, confront change management and effectively communicate with key stakeholders

Paul Rowley is a Senior Account Manager at VYRE and has over 12 years experience helping clients deliver profitable returns through maximizing efficiency with an in-depth knowledge of CMS, DAM and Workflow Automation. Paul has worked with some the world largest Advertising Agencies and Marketing departments in large corporations.

Steve McGowan is one of VYRE's New Business Development Managers. He has 15 years of valuable experience in media and software business development and has been helping many companies build business cases for marketing related projects.

"Case Study: ESPN STAR Sports - Multi Channel Content Management in Practice",  Steven Ackers,
Senior Director - Operations, ESPN STAR Sports

ESPN STAR Sports is Asia's definitive and complete sports broadcaster and content provider and as such delivers a diverse array of international and regional sports news, results, comments and competitions to a massive audience. The broadcaster aims to reach consumers at any time, any place and through all new media platforms.

In the case study we will examine:

  • How to take control of content production in a multi-channel environment
  • Efficiencies gained from effective multi-channel management
  • How to successfully introducing Web 2.0 and new channels
  • How new channels and interactive features can increase visitors and time spent on site and revenue

The ESPN STAR Sports website was very popular and frequently appeared in the top 2000 websites on the net. However, in order to improve services to its audience and deliver sports content and news via different communication channels ESPN STAR Sports invested in VYRE and the VYRE Unify Multi Channel Content Management solution.

As a result ESPN STAR Sports now delivers dynamic, personalised content to its target audiences via various different channels: the ESPN STAR Sports website, the mobileESPN site, SMS messaging of updates and news and newsletters.

The new ESPN STAR Sports site was launched in the summer of 2008 and 18 months after launch espnstar.com has become the number one online sports destination in its target markets. Monthly visits have increased more than sixfold to approximately 4 million, and pure online ad sales has increased from around 5% to over 30% of total revenues.

Internally the broadcaster has been able to take control over its content allowing the business to increase efficiencies, streamline processes, speed up time to market with content and news and cut costs.

"How to Streamline content strategies and managing online and print with a single solution",  Chris Hodges, Managing Director, Wave2 Media Solutions, and Martin Cook, Consultant, VYRE

Print is a costly medium to design, produce and distribute and although new channels are increasing in prominence print is still very popular with consumers.

In this session we will examine how the VYRE Unify Multi-Channel Management solution delivers on the promise of cutting costs for print and web creation by:

  • Providing a central repository of master content that can then be repurposed to multiple channels
  • Increasing the consistency of content and brand compliance across multiple channels
  • Transferring the print design process online through pre-defined templates
  • Enabling non technical staff to localize marketing collateral
  • Speeding approvals and distribution of final print artwork

Chris Hodges, The Founder and Managing Director of Wave2 Media Solutions, together with VYRE Consultant Martin Cook will draw on case studies and years of experience to present the benefits of combining print and web content production in a single solution.

The session will include a demo of an online print templating solution from Wave2- so you can assess the potential efficiencies first hand.

Martin Cook is a Consultant and Product Manager at VYRE and is responsible for supporting all pre sales activities in addition to product management. He works with various departments within the organisation to co-ordinate and assist with product direction and competitive analysis.
