VYRE Unify: Version 4-6-2 Release
19.07.2011 12:10FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, 27 July 2011, London, UK. VYRE Ltd, an award winning marketing automation provider, announce the release of VYRE Unify: version 4.6.2
VYRE Unify 4.6.2 is a new major version release of VYRE’s marketing automation platform. This release includes greater search recording capabilities that form the foundation of advanced reporting features for both Unify and Unify based On Brand solutions. These features allow further drill down into both user journeys and asset history and workflows which, in turn, leads to improved reports and statistics.
Protected content sharing has been introduced to allow collaboration with non-registered users - assets can now be shared on a time limited basis further enhancing both individual and group asset sharing via collections. This also has the added benefit of protecting your precious assets by ringfencing external access to limited areas and information. Again, this benefits both Unify and On Brand clients.
Our Web-to-print capabilities have been further enhanced to allow end users more freedom to manipulate approved InDesign based templates. We've added cropping, flipping and scaling allowing users to refine their on demand print templating. This functionality is one of a series of print module improvements that will be released over the next few months.
Further details of all the improvments and new features within VYRE Unify 4.6.2 are given below.
What is new in version 4.6.2?
Enhanced statistics and reporting
This release includes enhanced recording of searches, downloads and views to allow improved reporting of user, asset and other activity. Dashboards, reporting and statistics for our marketing automation and other Unify based applications can now show further information, for example regarding an assets lifetime or finer granularity around user activity.
Protected content sharing
Limited access to selected content items can be granted to users who do not have system accounts by generating a unique URL and providing it to those users. Additionally, protected shared content (for instance, a video or image asset) can be set to expire at a given time (e.g. one week). This improves our clients ability to temporarily share approved protected files without the risk of non-registered users accessing any other part of the application or file repository.
Web-to-print
Enhancements in this release to our Web-to-print module include image cropping tools (ability to crop, flip and scale) and rich text editing (WYSIWYG editor). These new additions and enhancements improve users ability to localise distributed artwork templates (InDesign based files) within the Unify Print module.
Shared search
Our Enterprise Search functionality has been updated to allow shared search URLs. Users can now share or embed unique search URLs to ensure the same results are returned for other users and links within content. This greatly improves consistency and the ability to ask others to look at the same set of search results without having to repeatedly specify search criteria.
Support for ReCAPTCHA
Enhanced anti-spam protection for forms/commenting and other user collaboration features within our applications. ReCAPTCHA adds the ability to request a new CAPTCHA image and to use an audio CAPTCHA, rather than an image. For more information on ReCAPTCHA please see http://www.google.com/recaptcha.
Improved bulk uploading
Our powerful bulk uploading functionality has been improved to allow ingestion of large numbers of assets and their related metadata. Clients can also specify other assets to be linked to along with any user linking. This additional functionality speeds up deployment and ensures our clients can ingest large numbers of assets and enrich them at the same time. Additionally, our Java based upload applet allows for files greater than 2GB and a richer user interface within our Unify based applications.
Localisation Enhancements
We have implemented an import feature to allow standard TMX (Translation Memory eXchange ) files to be ingested into Unify. This improves and enhances the language and localisation features in Unify to speed up deployment of localisation applications.
Improved support for Windows Media Video
With our advanced Media Server engine deployed on a Windows based server we can now take advantage of built in support for WMV to produce WMV version 9 files. This results in higher quality derived files and better compatibility for playback on Windows Media Player.
Exif & IPTC
You can now configure Unify and its applications to use the extracted IPTC and EXIF values for images to populate metadata. This allows the related metadata information to be updated and displayed to end users. For example copyright information, technical information and other detailed file attributes can be ingested automatically then updated to fit each clients needs. Users can also extract this information in reports and other areas of our suite of applications.
Multiple external email enhancements
Our user collaboration and messaging features have been improved to allow greater flexibility when sending multiple emails out of our applications.
Virtual Path Improvements
This new release includes functionality that allows our clients to create, delete and update (using various parameters) enhanced virtual path information. By providing a more flexible AJAX powered gateway, Unify allows links to content to have a unique URL rather than a combination of ID and name. This conforms to RFC3986.
Improved Auditing
Enhanced auditing of user activity in terms of IP address information has been implemented in this latest release. This assists with user audit reporting and other related statistics.
Naming & Import/Export of Portlets
It is now possible to import and export all our built in configurable widgets/portlets along with their preferences in Unify. Additionally, these can now be identified by user-specified names set in the Unify so they can be safely referenced in another instances after the import. In addition, we can export at the same time, all portlets on a page, template or content area.
