Graduate Opportunity - Web Developer
Looking for your first start in the exciting world of web applications? Come and work for the company that is responsible for Diageo's worldwide brand asset management tool, Nokia's brand guidelines site, Virgin Holiday’s booking engine and ESPNStar’s website.
We're looking for a hard-working, quick-learning, independent individual to join our fun team.
Specifically, we're looking for the following:
- Current or recently graduated computer science (or related discipline) student with a passion for web applications
- A confident programmer, focusing on front end web technologies
- A quick learner with a willingness to learn
- A high level of spoken and written English
- The self-confidence to deal directly with clients
- Attention to detail and the ability to communicate complicated ideas clearly
Required skills:
- XHTML
- CSS
- Javascript
Nice to have, but not essential skills:
- XSLT
- SQL
- jQuery
- Java/JSP
- Unix Administration
Your day to day key responsibilities would be:
- To build and implement complex web applications on the VYRE Unify Platform
- Ensure deliverables are released on time, to specification and to the highest possible quality
- To assist with the requirements gathering and planning phase of projects to ensure realistic technical parameters and constraints are put in place
- To provide support for hosted Unify clients including the resolution of bug reports and support calls
- To carry out testing activities related to projects and software releases
- To raise Unify related bugs and enhancements to improve the quality of the Unify platform
- To work in conjunction with other members of the development team to ensure that implementation is done in accordance to specifications
- To become an expert user on our products, gaining an understanding of the strengths and weakness; championing customer issues in order to ensure they have a positive experience
- To train and work with new members of the team to ensure product knowledge is shared
- To provide product training for clients and partners
