E-commerce
VYRE Unify's e-commerce module has been optimised for both product and subscription based stores.
Because of the different nature of these models, Unify treats their inventories differently. For subscription based shops, priced content is directly mapped to user lease contracts, giving you maximum flexibility over how you sell your content. For product based shops, stock records are fully integrated with your core Unify deployment to cut down on maintenance and make administration of your site faster.
Content Subscription Based Sites
Our e-commerce module includes features specifically developed for sites that use content subscription business models. Out of the box, it can integrate with all major UK online payment systems, with full support for both WorldPay and Datacash. Because customer access to content is on a lease basis, you'll have total control over how long your content is accessible, and to whom.
Controlling your subscribers, and your content
Leases are based on user groups. Completely configurable, they allow you to tie specific user types to specific content types. A group can be granted access to just one type of content, or to several. This feature offers exceptional control capabilities over your content, and allows you to change your charging system painlessly and quickly. Similarly, promotions and free trials are simple to implement.
Account abuse is all too common. When you sell access to your content, you need to be sure that login details won't be passed around. Unify allows you to stay on top by giving you precise control over the number of concurrent logins permitted. A five user 'Business license' can easily be set up to deny access after the 5th concurrent login. A single user license sold to access the same content can deny access after the first.
Product Based Sites
Because Unify creates product catalogues directly from existing File and Data Stores, all of your site's pre-existing functionality (item searches and display pages for example) can be carried straight over into your e-commerce model. Time saved setting up is considerable, meaning faster, easier site administration, and less downtime whilst you update your inventory.
Controlling your products and functionality
The key to any successful online payment system is giving your customers as many different ways to pay as possible. Unify allows you to be flexible. Payments can be processed either through one of the built-in Payment Service Providers (PSPs), including PayPal, WorldPay, HSBC and DataCash; or integrated directly with your provider of choice, using a simple XML/Java-based API.
Your check-out process too can be set up exactly to fit your precise requirements. Check-out can be entirely within a remote PSP site, split between a remote PSP and VYRE, or entirely within VYRE. Whichever configuration you choose, all purchase orders are captured by the system and stored in a local database, and portlets for searching and displaying orders makes it easy to build merchant administration systems and generate sales reports.
